Identi?cation of Material Topics
Hikvision places great emphasis on stakeholderconcerns and inputs. In 2024, we rened ourassessment methods in line with the Self-Regulatory Guidelines No. 17 for Companies Listedon the Shenzhen Stock Exchange—SustainabilityReport (For Trial Implementation). We conductedour rst double materiality assessment, which fullyintegrated perspectives from multiple departmentsand over 120 stakeholders of various types. Before sequencing and ltering the topics, weevaluated their relevance to "corporate nance"and to the "economy, society, and environment".
Materiality assessmentImportance to the economy, society, and environment:
Stakeholders - including shareholders/investors,employees, customers, government and regulators,suppliers/partners, media outlets, and NGOs/communities- participated in a survey on the magnitude of potentialimpacts, both positive and negative, of Hikvision'sperformance toward the material topics. A total of 112questionnaires were collected from these stakeholders.Importance to corporate finance:
Hikvision's senior executives and relevant departmentheads contributed to the survey. They thoroughlyconsidered the risks and opportunities associated withthe material topics, including the magnitude of theirpotential impact on our business models, operations, development strategies, and financial standing. A total of10 questionnaires were collected from these stakeholders.
Topic identicationBased on the material topics identified in our 2023ESG report, and in line with domestic and internationalpolicies, ESG norms, capital market rating criteria, andindustry benchmarking outcomes, we have compiled alist of 25 key ESG topics.
Sequencing and lteringWe performed a quantitative analysis of the financialmateriality and impact materiality assessment results, with the "materiality thresholds" set at one-third andtwo-thirds. Topics are thus divided into three categories:
"less material" for topics scoring below one-third,"moderately material" for those scoring one-third orabove but below two-thirds, and "highly material" forthose scoring two-thirds or above.

Risk Management
We have established the Risk and Compliance Management Committee under the Boardof Directors and developed the Working Rules of the Risk and Compliance ManagementCommittee of the Board of Directors and the Risk Management Policy to integrate ESG-related factors, including human rights, information security and data protection, into ourrisk assessment and internal control processes. Leveraging our risk management andinternal control systems, we enhance the practical management of various topics, strictlycontrol associated risks, and vigorously pursue relevant opportunities to ensure long-termstable development.
Each business unit (BU) comprehen-sively identifies risks associated withbusiness operations and categorizesthese risks following the guidelinesset forth in the Hikvision Risk Dic-tionary. The risks are then describedin a standard format that typically en-compasses their causes and potentialconsequences.
The magnitude of risks is evaluatedbased on the likelihood of their oc-currence alongside the impact theycould have. Likelihood assessmenttakes into account factors like busi-ness models, development strategies, and historical risks, while impact as-sessment covers financial, reputa-tional, legal, safety, operational, en-vironmental, and other dimensions.Risks are then divided into three lev-els: "high", "medium", and "low".
Each BU selects appropriate risk re-sponse strategies based on the risklevels. These strategies include:
risk avoidance—suspending or ter-minating the relevant business ac-tivities when risks surpass accept-able thresholds; risk reduction—im-plementing proper controls to lessenthe likelihood or impact of risks; risksharing—sharing risks with externalstakeholders through subcontract-ing or insurance; and risk retention—accepting risks that fall within tolera-ble limits without further action. Theselection of strategies is guided byprecise risk assessments and rea-sonable cost-benefit analyses.
The risk list is maintained in theCompany's process managementplatform following evaluation byrelevant departments and per-sonnel. The accuracy of the list isregularly checked, and any identi-fied issues are promptly commu-nicated to the concerned BUs.

1. Energy use, consumption, and GHG data: For the calculation of such data in China, the measurement method has shifted from the location-based one to the company-based one, resulting in a significant increase in the number of
entities (from 40 to 123 companies) included in data quantification and more accurate results. For data outside China, three innovation-driven subsidiaries have been added for data calculation. Specifically, the following organizationsare involved in the calculation: R&D parks, production bases, and marketing centers in China (123 companies in total) and international marketing centers (in 61 countries and regions), the Brazil production base, the Indian productionbase, and the marketing centers and production bases of EZVIZ, HikRobot, and HikMicro out of China.
2. Scope of other environmental data: For calculation of such data in China, four innovation-driven subsidiaries have been added. For calculation of the data outside China, three innovation-driven subsidiaries have been added.
Specifically, the following organizations are involved in the calculation: the R&D and production parks (Binjiang Phase 1, Phase II, Phase III, Phase IV, and Phase V in Hangzhou), Tonglu production base, Chongqing production base,Wuhan production base, 32 marketing centers, and the digital marketing centers and production bases of EZVIZ, HikRobot, HikMicro, and HikAuto in China, as well as international marketing centers (in 61 countries and regions), theBrazil production base, the Indian production base, and the marketing centers and production bases of EZVIZ, HikRobot, and HikMicro out of China.
●The time scope of environmental data is from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024. The organizational scope of environmental data is signicantly expanded compared with the last year, with details listedbelow:
●Photovoltaic (PV) power includes the amount of electricity generated from solar, as indicated on the purchased green electricity certicates, and that produced by PV systems at Hikvision's production bases.
●Total energy consumption is calculated in tons of coal equivalent, with reference to the National Standard of the People's Republic of China GB/T 2589-2020 General Rules for Calculation of theComprehensive Energy Consumption.
●Intensity is calculated using the total amount in 2024 divided by the Company's revenue for the year, in millions of RMB.
●Direct greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1) are from the use of gasoline, diesel, and natural gas. The calculation of Hikvision's Scope 1 emissions in China follows the Guidelines for Accounting and ReportingGreenhouse Gas Emissions — China Electronic Equipment Manufacturing Enterprises (Trial) issued by the National Development and Reform Commission of the People's Republic of China. The calculationof Scope 1 emissions out of China follows the EIB Project Carbon Footprint Methodologies.
●Indirect greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 2) are from the use of purchased electricity (from non-renewable energy). The calculation of Hikvision's Scope 2 emissions in China in 2024 follows theAnnouncement on the Release of Carbon Dioxide Emission Factors for Electricity in 2022 (December 16, 2024) issued by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People's Republic of China; thecalculation of Scope 2 emissions out of China follows the EIB Project Carbon Footprint Methodologies.
